'Stop work, produce permit' - AMA explains.

Accra Metropolitan Assembly branch at Amasaman in the Greater Accra Region has explained that 'Stop work produce permit' is being written on new walls, and buildings in the construction field.

AMA made this known during operations at Ardeyman, Akramaman, and Onyansana, the government says if any person wants to construct a new building should come to register and request for building permit before starting the project.

The Landlord should submit documents such as site plan, indenture, and building drawings to any AMA office as early as possible to check if the land is not on government projects. Landlords should also go to lands at 37 to register or to confirm if the land doesn't belong to anyone.

"Stop work, produce permit' means the landlord doesn't have a permit for the project is constructing that's why AMA writes on new walls and buildings" the field officer explained.

AMA checks the land according to the drawing presented and funds the project equivalent to the amount stated in the Act of law governing construction.

"People do not understand why AMA demolished buildings, failure to obey the rules, buildings will still continue to be demolished. It's obliged to all landlords to hold original permit when constructing".
