NPP Exodus Worries Chief Whip: "Dangerous Signal" as Experienced MPs Step Down.

The New Patriotic Party (NPP) faces potential trouble in Parliament, with experienced MPs like Kwaku Botwe, Carlos Ahenkorah, and Osei Kyei-Mensah-Bonsu announcing their retirement. This mass exodus has caught the attention of Majority Chief Whip Frank Annor Dompreh, who expresses deep concern about the "dangerous signal" it sends.

Dompreh, lamenting the loss of seasoned representatives, pointed out that the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) retains its experienced bloc, potentially creating an imbalance in Parliament. He fears that further desertions could cripple the NPP's effectiveness and impact the overall work of the legislature.

"The competition in Parliament is fierce," Dompreh stated, "and while our counterparts stay put, we're losing critical knowledge and experience. We can't cry over spilled milk, but we must act to protect the remaining MPs and the party's interests."

In response, Dompreh urges all NPP members to rally behind the party's candidates, both new and incumbent, ensuring the party retains its parliamentary majority. The potential loss of veteran figures like Samuel Atta Akyea, Joe Osei Owusu, and Kennedy Ohene Agyapong, among others, raises further concerns about the upcoming elections and the NPP's long-term stability in Parliament.
