Fidelity Bank Uplifts Abbeykope D/A Basic School with New Classrooms and Renovations
Fidelity Bank, a Ghanaian financial institution, has significantly improved the learning environment for students at Abbeykope D/A Basic School in the Ningo Prampram District.
Through their "Orange Impact" social responsibility initiative, the bank delivered a brand new three-unit classroom block, renovated an existing six-unit block, and installed a rainwater harvesting system for the school.

An official handover ceremony last week celebrated this impactful project. Key stakeholders including the District Chief Executive, education officials, traditional leaders, and representatives from partner NGOs gathered at the school to witness the transformation.
Transforming a Learning Environment
The school, built in 2006, had faced growing challenges due to a lack of renovation. With a rising student population, classrooms became overcrowded, desks were damaged, and leaky roofs disrupted lessons.
"Whenever it rained, classes would come to a halt," said Enoch Anyingmor Teye, the Headteacher. He expressed his gratitude to Fidelity Bank, highlighting how this project will go beyond improved learning spaces. "This facelift will not only improve student learning but also motivate teachers and encourage parents to keep their children in school," he stated.
Fidelity Bank's Commitment to Educational Equity
Fidelity Bank is dedicated to promoting educational equity in Ghana. Recognizing the limited resources faced by the Abbeykope community, the bank's Orange Impact initiative aimed to bridge this gap.
"We were struck by the potential of the Abbeykope community, but also the challenges they faced," said Simon Adu-Gyamfi, Director of Banking Operations at Fidelity Bank. "The new classrooms and renovations aim to bridge that gap and empower students to reach their full potential."
Building a Sustainable Future
The project extends beyond classrooms. Partnering with EcoSchools, six recycling bins were provided to promote environmental awareness. The rainwater harvesting system fosters environmental responsibility and self-sufficiency, providing a renewable water source for the school.
Orange Impact: Empowering Schools Across Ghana
The intervention at Abbeykope D/A Basic School is part of a wider effort by Fidelity Bank. The Orange Impact initiative, launched in 2022, aims to empower 15 under-resourced schools across Ghana over five years. Through collaboration, investment, and infrastructure improvements, Fidelity Bank is shaping a brighter future for Ghanaian youth by ensuring quality education for all.
