Four Somé SHS Staff Arrested for Alleged Theft of Food Supplies_

Four staff members of Somé Senior High School in the Ketu South Municipality have been arrested for allegedly stealing food items meant for students. The suspects include the Assistant Headmistress, a cook, the matron, and the bursar.

The arrests were made after alumni and an Assembly member intercepted the bursar and matron on Friday evening, May 24, and discovered a stash of food items in their possession. The seized items included tin tomatoes, mackerel, cleaning agents, and insecticide spray.

According to the Senior Housemaster, Byron Kwakutsey Kpeli, the theft has been ongoing for a long time, and the arrests are expected to bring change. The police have conducted investigations and invited the storekeeper for questioning.

All four suspects are scheduled to appear in court on Monday, May 27, 2024. The incident has sparked mixed feelings in the school, with some expressing relief that the alleged theft has been uncovered, while others are concerned about the impact on the school's reputation.
