Language Barrier Hinders Political Messages from Reaching Target Audience - Pentecost Pastor_

Pastor Emmanuel Oppong Donkor, a lecturer at Pentecost University and District Pastor for Adenta Church of Pentecost, has highlighted the challenge of language use in communicating political messages to the right people.

According to him, most political policies and messages are not reaching their intended audience, especially during campaign periods, due to the reliance on written communication.

Speaking at the launch of the Akwapim Twi Old Testament Audio Bible in Aburi, Eastern Region, Pastor Oppong Donkor emphasized that approximately 5.7 billion people out of 8 billion worldwide understand oral communication faster than written language.

Moreover, about 65% of Ghanaians cannot read or write but comprehend oral language and remember it for a longer period.

The pastor urged country leaders to translate key policy and program documents into audio formats to cater to those who cannot read. This initiative, he believes, will enhance understanding and accessibility among a larger segment of the population.

The Akwapim Twi Old Testament Audio Bible launch, organized by Theovision International, a nonprofit Christian organization, aims to promote oral communication and accessibility of religious texts.
