Mahama Pledges to Revamp Tema Oil Refinery if Elected President_

The flagbearer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), John Dramani Mahama, has vowed to revitalize the Tema Oil Refinery (TOR) if he wins the presidency in the upcoming December 7 general elections.

Speaking at a meeting with stakeholders in the petroleum downstream sector, Mahama emphasized the need for a joint private-public partnership to revive the struggling oil refinery. He acknowledged the challenges associated with state-owned enterprises and expressed his administration's willingness to explore private partnerships to restore TOR's operations.

Mahama stressed the importance of transparency in any private partnership or participation, ensuring that the process is open and accountable. This pledge aims to address the long-standing issues plaguing TOR and revitalize Ghana's oil refining capacity.

If elected, Mahama's administration plans to give TOR the necessary attention to revamp its operations, leveraging private sector expertise and investment to drive efficiency and growth. This move is expected to boost Ghana's energy sector and stimulate economic development.
