Sir Sam Jonah: Current Generation Has Failed Youth, Must Listen to Their Concerns_

Sir Sam Jonah, Chancellor of the University of Cape Coast, has candidly acknowledged that the current leadership has failed to provide adequate opportunities for the youth, leaving them a world plagued by numerous challenges.

Speaking at Morgan State University's graduation ceremony in Baltimore, USA, Sir Jonah emphasized that the youth deserve to be heard when they express their hardships.

He stated, "My generation has not been kind to you. We have left you a world riddled with wars, famine, disease, racial and gender discrimination, and a multitude of problems... It is instructive for the old to listen in humility when the young today say with anger and pain that my generation has failed them."

Sir Jonah encouraged the graduands to actively participate in political processes, utilizing their knowledge to transform the world and make a positive impact. He quoted Plato, "The price of apathy in public affairs is to be ruled by evil men."

This heartfelt address highlights the need for intergenerational understanding and collaboration to address the pressing issues affecting the youth and create a better future.
