Tragedy on Offinso-Anyinasusu Road: Three Killed, Scores Injured in Devastating Crash_

A horrific accident on the Offinso-Anyinasusu road in the Ashanti Region has claimed the lives of three people and left several others injured.

The crash, which occurred on Tuesday, May 21, involved a Yutong bus traveling from Kumasi to Gaaru and a Rhino vehicle.

According to eyewitnesses, the bus attempted to overtake another vehicle when it collided with the Rhino truck, which was carrying mangoes. The impact was devastating, with three people pronounced dead at the scene. The survivors were rushed to St. Patrick's Government Hospital for treatment, where they are receiving medical attention for their injuries.

Ibrahim Yogo, the Assemblyman for Anyinasusu, confirmed the incident and expressed his condolences to the families of the victims. He attributed the accident to the lack of speed bumps on the road, which has become a death trap due to speeding vehicles. Yogo appealed to authorities to construct speed ramps on the adjoining communities to prevent such crashes in the future.

The Offinso highway, a critical transatlantic stretch connecting Ghana to its northern neighbors, has witnessed a surge in road carnages in recent times. Stakeholders are urging intensified education and enforcement of road traffic regulations to prevent such tragedies.

As the community mourns the loss of precious lives, the call for urgent measures to ensure road safety grows louder. The authorities must act swiftly to address the concerns of the people and prevent further bloodshed on our roads.
