Truck Carrying Illegal Mining Equipment Crashes into Sehwi Juaboso Court

A KIA Rhino truck loaded with illegal mining equipment, known as "galamsey" equipment, crashed into the Sehwi Juaboso Magistrate Court in the Juaboso district early on Tuesday, causing significant damage to the courthouse exterior.

Galamsey has become a major concern in the region due to its devastating environmental impact and its role in fueling illegal mining activities.

Reports indicate the truck driver experienced brake failure, leading to the accident. The truck's registration number is AS 9184-20.

Authorities swiftly arrived at the scene and arrested those involved in the incident. While the identities of those apprehended haven't been revealed, police have confirmed they are in custody for further investigation.
