Ghana Police Arrest Two in Connection with Ablekuma North Election Violence

ACCRA, Ghana – The Accra Regional Police Command has announced the arrest of two suspects in connection with the violent incidents and assaults that occurred during the Ablekuma North parliamentary re-run election on Friday, July 11, 2025.


The arrested individuals have been identified as Musah Muntari, a 46-year-old Station Manager at STC, and Ali Saeed alias Mboma, a 43-year-old businessman. Both suspects are currently assisting the police with ongoing investigations into the electoral disturbances.

In a press release dated July 23, 2025, the Accra Regional Police Command reiterated its commitment to ensuring that all persons responsible for acts of violence, intimidation, or misconduct during elections are brought to justice. The police urged the public to continue cooperating and sharing credible information by calling their emergency numbers 18555 or 191.
