Love and Peace: Cat. Baadu Darko Urges Unity Between Church and Family
ADJEIMAN, GA WEST – Cat. Edward Baadu Darko of the Victory Congregation has called for a "divine partnership" between the Church and the Family to secure the moral future of the next generation.
Speaking on the theme "Good Family Relationship," the Catechist argued that a child’s spiritual and social success depends on a unified front between the sanctuary and the home. Drawing from 1 Samuel 2:18-26, he contrasted the faithful upbringing of Samuel with the tragic neglect in Eli’s household, noting that consistent parental presence is the bedrock of character.
Ending Conflict with Love
Addressing modern domestic tensions, Cat. Baadu Darko pointed to Colossians 3:14-15 as the spiritual blueprint for peace. He urged families to clothe themselves in love—the "bond of perfection"—to ensure that inevitable conflicts do not lead to division.
"Let the peace of Christ act as the umpire in your hearts," he stated. "When peace rules the home, unity becomes the foundation for the Church."
The Model of Growth
Citing the example of Jesus in Luke 2:41-52, the Catechist reminded congregants that even the Savior honored the family structure by being submissive to His parents. He emphasized that this balance of spiritual devotion and family discipline is what allows a child to grow "in wisdom and stature, and in favor with God and man."
A Call to Action
Cat. Baadu Darko concluded by challenging the Adjeiman community to move beyond "Sunday-only" spirituality. He called for a return to the "Hannah Model" of consistent care, stressing that when the Church teaches and the Family nurtures, the result is a generation of leaders who are both spiritually grounded and socially responsible.
