HON. RICHARD GYAN-MENSAH COMMISSIONS HEALTH AND EDUCATION PROJECTS
GOMOA WEST, Central Region — The Member of Parliament for Gomoa West and Deputy Minister for Energy, Hon. Richard Gyan-Mensah, has officially commissioned two major infrastructure projects designed to expand healthcare delivery and upgrade basic education across the district.
The newly handed-over facilities include a modern Community-Based Health Planning and Services (CHPS) compound with integrated nurses’ quarters at Gomoa Ankamu, and a 3-unit Junior High School (JHS) classroom block at Gomoa Enyeme.
Elevating Rural Healthcare Access
The new facility at Gomoa Ankamu provides a dedicated primary health hub intended to deliver routine outpatient services, maternal care, and basic emergency interventions.
A critical feature of the development is the attached nurses' quarters. By providing secure on-site accommodation for resident nursing staff, the facility ensures around-the-clock availability for emergency calls, eliminating the need for community members to travel long distances during medical emergencies.
Enhancing Educational Infrastructure
At Gomoa Enyeme, Hon. Gyan-Mensah handed over a newly constructed 3-unit JHS classroom block featuring an administrative storage room and a dedicated staff common room for teachers.
The facility is aimed at easing classroom congestion, modernizing teaching environments, and giving educators a proper space for administrative work and lesson planning. During the commissioning ceremony, the MP urged traditional authorities, school administrators, and students to adopt a strong maintenance culture to ensure the facility serves generations to come.
Sustained Development Commitment
Addressing constituents, local assembly members, and traditional leaders, Hon. Gyan-Mensah reaffirmed his commitment to driving human-centered development across Gomoa West, citing basic health, educational infrastructure, and energy expansion as key pillars of his agenda.
