Iran's Supreme Leader Leads Funeral Prayers for President Raisi and Others_

Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, Iran's supreme leader, led funeral prayers at Tehran University for the country's late president, Ebrahim Raisi, foreign minister, Hossein Amir-Abdollahian, and six others who died in a helicopter crash on Sunday.

The caskets, draped in Iranian flags, were carried by mourners as Khamenei led the prayers, eulogizing the deceased with the traditional Arabic prayer for the dead. Iran's acting president, Mohammad Mokhber, was visibly emotional during the service.

Following the prayers, the coffins were carried on shoulders through downtown Tehran to Azadi Square, a significant location where Raisi had delivered speeches in the past. The procession was accompanied by chants of "Death to America" from the mourners.

Top leaders of Iran's paramilitary Revolutionary Guard, a major power center in the country, attended the funeral. The service was held under tight security, with authorities warning against any demonstrations or online insults.

The helicopter crash, which occurred near the border with Azerbaijan, has shocked the nation, and the funeral procession was a somber occasion for the country to bid farewell to its late leaders.
