Opoku Ware Senior High School has made history as Ghana's first Smart School, following the inauguration of a state-of-the-art classroom block by Vice-President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia. The facility, named after President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, is equipped with digital devices, including smart boards, computers, and internet access.

The Ghana Smart Schools Project, launched by President Akufo-Addo in March, aims to transform public senior high schools into smart schools, providing free computer tablets to students and laptops to teachers and staff. The devices come with downloaded learning materials, including textbooks.
