Victory Congregation Adjiman Hosts and Triumphs at Emmaus Day 2026

ADJIMAN, Greater Accra
— The Victory Congregation of Adjiman proved to be formidable hosts today, April 6, 2026, as they not only organized but also emerged victorious at the Presbyterian Church of Ghana’s Amasaman District Emmaus Day.

The event, held at the Kwashikuman School Park, brought together youth from throughout the district under the theme: "Celebrating our heritage; Building on the foundation already laid as Youth" (1 Cor 3:11).

Hosts Dominate on the Pitch

The highlight of the day was the football tournament, where the host team, Victory Congregation, showcased exceptional skill and teamwork. After a series of intense matches against visiting congregations from the Amasaman District, the Adjiman-based team secured the top spot, much to the delight of their home supporters.

The final whistle at the Kwashikuman School Park was met with cheers as the hosts officially claimed the title, cementing their reputation for both hospitality and athletic excellence.

A Balanced Celebration of Faith and Sport

While the football matches provided high-energy entertainment, the day remained rooted in the district’s spiritual mission. Activities included:

  • Evangelism: Youth members engaged the local Kwashikuman and Adjiman communities in morning outreach sessions.
  • Recreational Games: Attendees participated in volleyball and various indoor games, including ludo and cards, fostering a spirit of friendly competition.
  • Fellowship: The gathering served as a vital networking opportunity for Presbyterian youth to strengthen their bonds across the district.

Building the Future

By successfully hosting and winning the day's main events, the Victory Congregation youth demonstrated the leadership and dedication central to this year’s theme. Organizers noted that the discipline shown on the field was a direct reflection of the "foundation" the church seeks to build in its young members.

As the Emmaus Day festivities drew to a close, the Amasaman District leadership praised all participants for their sportsmanship and their commitment to the church's heritage.
